Gareth commenced his professional career in 1984 in the United Kingdom and has widespread audit and business services related experience obtained from both the United Kingdom and Australia, covering a multitude of industries within both the private and public sectors. His industry specialisations include various corporations involved in manufacturing, construction, servicing, insurance, and brokerage including Lloyds of London.  During his time at the New South Wales Auditor-General's Department, Gareth was responsible for audits of the New South Wales Attorney General's Department, State Superannuation Department, Valuer-General's Department and the Land Titles Office. 

Gareth has gained a wide variety of experience in corporate recovery, restructuring and insolvency. He has managed numerous insolvency engagements encompassing liquidations, receiverships, voluntary administrations, bankruptcies and special investigative reviews in a number of industries including construction, hospitality, manufacturing and servicing.

Gareth was seconded to Bangkok Bank to manage a large portfolio of non-performing loans, where he was responsible for devising monitoring procedures with respect to restructured debts, in addition to negotiations between lenders and debtor companies and the preparation of term sheets and restructuring agreements. He was also required to analyse and investigate various accountant and financial advisor reports in addition to proposed term sheets.  Gareth also headed the advisory team representing local and overseas banks and bondholders in their negotiations with one of Thailand's largest construction companies whose debts exceeded USD 300 million.

Gareth also heads up the RSM Thailand Office’s Corporate Advisory Services Division.
